Stay safe, Chicago! #derecho
Ah, not Isaías yet. This was just a stray thunderstorm.
I'm glad I didn't get caught in this!
Last night the UPS started shrieking at 1am because it was on battery backup, and the lights in the house were flickering in a way that made me think there were some nasty line voltage issues. I shut everything down and turned off the UPS so I could sleep. This morning everything seems normal again. Weird.
For years I've been annoyed b/c when I import .docx files into LibreOffice, all the bullet points (•) in unordered lists change to movie clapperboards (🎬). Not a huge deal—you can fix it manually. But if you want to batch-convert a bunch of documents with unoconv, you're out of luck. I finally figured out that I had an out-of-date version of Microsoft's symbol.ttf, and when I updated it the problem went away.
Looking forward to getting paid to fill up my car. https://nyti.ms/2VnnrXQ
I'm going to try a non-standard port, and we'll see what happens.
Argh... Secretary's phone is behind a NAT but using STUN, and the standard SIP port. Going crazy with incoming SIP INVITEs. This is why we can't have nice things.
