When I was in second grade, I remember our art teacher assigning a project to imagine and depict something from the year 2020. I had seen the movie "ET," so I assumed we would have made contact with life from other worlds by now. I rolled up some construction paper and made a cylindrical-shaped alien (oriented horizontally), and glued on some springy legs and eyes.

Man, that would have been way cooler than what we actually got.
