It does seem like all the characters and their arcs are disintegrating in nihilistic chaos. And it’s not like we get any kind of accounting for why they don’t end up where they were headed. Maybe that’s the point—life is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. But if that’s *all* the writers have to say, it’s not particularly worthwhile.
