@mds2 For me, the Old Testament commandments to welcome the stranger are incredibly on point, when it comes to Jesus' story. This command is grounded in God's grace toward the Israelites: welcome the stranger, because you were strangers in Egypt. I showed mercy and grace to you... now you show it to others. Jesus recapitulates this very theme in the parable of the unforgiving servant in Matthew 18.
